Lassen Park has always been one of my favorite places! I was born and raised only about an hour from the park, and the surrounding areas have always been home away from home. I had a high school job at a camp in Mineral, CA where we stayed during the week. During our downtime we did a ton of exploring and made so many great summer memories! When we went home at the end of the week, we were quickly reminded just how much hotter it was the second the car door opened, and I always felt like we were escaping the heat when we headed back to the camp on Sunday afternoon.

If you're local, (Red Bluff/Redding/Chico areas) you know how hot it can get around here! So I know when you think of doing a portrait session around here, summer might not be the first season to come to mind for some of you. However, this is one of the most gorgeous times of year up in the mountains!!
